Cemetery Board

Wednesday, August 14th, 2024 Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairperson, Rosemary Leshinski. Roll Call: Board members: Rosemary Leshinski, Lawerence Verga. Clerk: Natalie Iafolla. Cemetery Sexton: David Leshinski. Liaison: Mr. Sangacimo, Village Councilmember. Visitors: Ms. Maschari, Village Councilmember. Current Agenda Approval: Rosemary Leshinski motioned to approve agenda, seconded by Larry Verga, with all in favor. Approval Minutes from 7/10/2024. Minutes e-mailed to board. Motion to approve minutes made by Larry Verga with second by Rosemary Leshinski with all in favor. Report of internments and findings in baby section of Evergreen cemetery was presented by Ms. Maschari. The board thanks her for the time and effort put forth into researching and findings. Financial reports: Financial Reports sent in e-mail. Motion made by Rosemary Leshinski and seconded by Larry Verga that financial reports received, with all in favor. Old Business: Drainage in Sec. B. and L. No update at this time Columbarium: Kevin Hipp from Franklin Memorial will attend the next cemetery board meeting to present columbarium plan. Tree Removal from Memorial Garden: Bob’s Tree Service has been contacted regarding the tree removal; on a waiting list, due to the recent storms. Cemetery Mapping: Larence Verga continues to update the cemetery mapping. New Business: Grant: Board Member Chris Gallagher has submitted a grant for $2,500.00 to assist with cemetery project. Waiting for update. Clerk Updates: Inquiry about open lots in an older section of the cemetery. Customer would like to purchase lots near family members. Cemetery sexton and board member will research and inform cemetery clerk of findings. Cemetery Sexton update: Two funerals. Rough graded several fresh graves. Filled several holes that were found and reported. Took old tires (dumped) to recycle center. Plans to dress and seed graves from recent burials.
