6. Public hearing to address the condition of 415 Avenue G South Houston, Texas 77587
(more particularly described as Lot 16 in Block 277 of Town of South Houston, a
subdivision in Harris County, Texas, according to the map or plat thereof, recorded in
Volume 2, Page 42 of the Map Records of Harris County, Texas) and the City’s provided
November 2, 2023 written Notice of Violation to the Owners, Gregory Sowder Peck and
the Estate of Augustina Peck . Any member of the public is allowed to attend and
provide public comments as to the condition of the property
7. Consideration and possible action to instruct the City Attorney to file suit against
Owners, Gregory Sowder Peck and the Estate of Augustina Peck of 415 Avenue G South
Houston, Texas 77587 in a Harris County District Court to ask the Court for a temporary
restraining order, a temporary injunction and a permanent injunction seeking the
removal of all “objectionable, unsightly or insanitary matter” and “rubbish” (as defined
under the City’s public nuisance Ordinance) in plain view from the Property and seek
civil damages and attorneys’ fees
8. Consideration and possible action on a resolution by the City of South Houston, Texas
authorizing and approving membership in the cities served by CenterPoint Gas (Cities)
for the purpose of protecting the interest of the City and its citizens with respect to
CenterPoint matters; further suspending the December 4, 2023, effective date of the
statement of intent of CenterPoint Energy Resources Corp., D/B/A CenterPoint Energy
Entex and CenterPoint Energy Texas Gas to change rates in the Texas division; to permit
the City time to study the request and to establish reasonable rates; finding that the
City’s reasonable rate case expenses shall be reimbursed by the Company; authorizing
participation with the cities served by CenterPoint Gas; hiring legal and consulting
services to negotiate with the Company and direct any necessary litigation and appeals;
finding that the meeting at which this Resolution is passed is open to the public as
required by law; requiring notice of this resolution to the company and legal counsel
9. Consideration and possible action on the minutes of the regular council meeting held on
October 24, 2023
10. Consideration and possible action on Finance Resolution No. 2023-21 authorizing
payment city vendors and contractors submitting invoices

I, the undersigned authority, do hereby certify that this Notice of Meeting of the governing body of the City of
South Houston was posted on the bulletin board at City Hall of said city, a place convenient and readily
accessible to the general public at all times on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 2:30 a.m. and will remain so
posted for at least 72 continuous hours proceeding the scheduled meeting time of said meeting.
The City Council reserves the right to convene in Executive Session at any time deemed necessary for the
consideration of confidential matters under the Texas Government Code, Sections 551.071-551.084.
