RESOLUTION: a) RESOLUTION NO. 07-2026 – Adopting a Proposed Operating Millage Rate of Ad Valorem Taxation for the 2026-2027 Fiscal Year and determining the Rolled-Back Rate. (Action Item) 5. If hearing impaired, telephone the Florida Relay Service Numbers, 800-955-8771 (TDD) or 800-955-8770 (Voice), for assistance. 2 | P a 2g e 3 RESOLUTION NO. 07-2026 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A PROPOSED OPERATING MILLAGE RATE OF AD VALOREM TAXATION FOR THE 2026-2027 FISCAL YEAR; DETERMINING THE ROLLED-BACK RATE; AUTHORIZING A PUBLIC HEARING AND DIRECTING NOTICE THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR SCRIVENER’S ERRORS AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Town of South Palm Beach, Florida (the “Town”) has a proposed budget for its General Fund, which calls for revenues to be raised from ad valorem taxation; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 200.065, Florida Statutes, the Town is required to advise the Property Appraiser of its proposed operating ad valorem taxation millage rate, its rolled back rate, and the date, time, and place that the public hearing will be held to consider the proposed millage rates and the tentative budget; and WHEREAS, the recommended operating millage rate of ad valorem taxation for the fiscal year commencing on October 1, 2026, and ending on September 30, 2027 (“Fiscal Year 2026- 2027”) is 3.3000 mills, which is $3.3000 per $1,000.00 of assessed value; and WHEREAS, the rollback rate is 3.4073 mills, which is $3.4073 per $1,000.00 of assessed value. WHEREAS, the Council finds that this resolution serves a public purpose and is in the best interests of the Town. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. Recitals Adopted. The foregoing recitals are hereby ratified and confirmed as true and correct and are incorporated herein by this reference. Section 2. Proposed Operating Millage Tax Rate. The recommended operating millage rate of ad valorem taxation is 3.3000 mills, which is $3.3000 per $1,000.00 of taxable assessed value for Fiscal Year 2026-2027. The rolled-back rate is 3.4073 mills. The above- described proposed operating millage rate is 3.15% below the rolled-back rate as computed pursuant to State law. Section 3. Tentative Public Hearing. Will be held on September 8, 2026, at 5:01 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, at South Palm Beach Town Hall, 3577 S Ocean Boulevard, South Palm Beach, Florida to consider the proposed millage rate and the tentative budget. 3 4 Section 4. Final Public Hearing. Will be held on September 14, 2026, at 5:01 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, at South Palm Beach Town Hall, 3577 S Ocean Boulevard, South Palm Beach, Florida to consider the proposed millage rate and the tentative budget. Section 5. Scrivener’s Errors. Typographical errors and other matters of a similar nature that do not affect the intent of this Resolution, as determined by the Town Clerk and Town Attorney, may be corrected. Section 6. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. Council Member ________________offered the foregoing Resolution and moved its adoption.
