Administrative - Opening 1. Land Acknowledgement We would like to acknowledge that we are on the traditional land of the first people of Wabanakek or Dawnland. The Passamaquoddy, Micmac, Penobscot, Abenaki and Maliseet collectively represent the Wabanaki Confederacy. We acknowledge their ancestors- past, present and future. We honor with gratitude the land itself and this calls us to commit to learning to be better stewards of the land we inhabit and invite all people to share in the work. 2. Adjournment Page 3 of 5 South Portland Conservation Commission Meeting Minutes – March 23, 2026 • Present: Adrienne Jalbert, John Lorenc, Peter Ryan, Peter Wilson • Absent: Chris Payne, Caleb Abbott • Staff Present: Kevin Anderson • Land Acknowledgement read by John Lorenc • Minutes from February 19th: o John L. moved to approve minutes. o Adrienne seconded. ▪ All voted in favor. • Public Comment o Dave Cohen attended as a potential new member to the commission • Freshwater Wetland Compensation Fund Project Updates o Aubrey Strause called in to give a presentation on two separate potential projects that would utilize the funds. She’ll be filling out the form for us to review at the next meeting. • Open Space Acquisition Committee Report o OSAC has not met. • Comprehensive Plan Committee Report o No updates. • City Council/Planning Board/Staff Updates o Climate resilience overlay zone workshop on February 10th.
