LOCAL BOARD OF EQUALIZATION Minutes March 16, 2020 The City of Spearfish Local Board of Equalization met at 5:30 pm on March 16, 2020 in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 625 Fifth Street. Voting members present were: Mayor Boke, City Council Members Clark, Herrmann, Hodgs, Jacobs, Klarenbeek, and School Board Member Plocek. Others present were City Finance Officer DeNeui, City Administrator Harmon, City Attorney McDonald, City Planner Watson, Parks and Recreation Director Ehnes, City Engineer Mathis, Public Works Director Lee, Public Safety Director Rotert, Police Chief Jacobs, Fire Chief Deaver, Assistant Fire Chief Mathis and Lawrence County Equalization Director Hodson and Deputy Meehan. Local Board Appeal # 2020-01 Assessed in name of: Scott Nauman Parcel No. 32030-01000-090-00 Reason for appeal: Taxable value too high. Recommendation was made by Director Meehan to change the valuation of the structure from $398,390 to $328,180. Total value changed to $406,180. Motion: Clark Second: Hodgs Motion carried with all voting in favor of the recommendation. Local Board Appeal # 2020-02 Assessed in name of: Rand & Gayla Williams Parcel No. 32030-02200-030-00 Reason for appeal: Taxable value too high. Recommendation was made by Director Meehan to change the valuation of one structure from $310,400 to $264,210 and the other structure from $41,630 to $32,670. Total value changed to $358,080. Motion: Herrmann Second: Jacobs Motion carried with all voting in favor of the recommendation. Local Board Appeal # 2020-03 Assessed in name of: Rapid Fish Ventures, LLC Parcel No. 32030-02100-020-00 Reason for appeal: Taxable value too high. Recommendation was made by Director Hodson to change the valuation of the structure from $3,752,070 to $3,477,710. Total value changed to $3,582,710. Motion: Clark Second: Herrmann Motion carried with all voting in favor of the recommendation. There being no public comment or further appeals, Clark motioned to adjourn, seconded by Hodgs.
