Special Session Minutes
January 7, 2022 8:30 a.m.
The Spearfish City Council met at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022. Mayor Boke presided and
called the meeting to order. Roll call was taken with the following members present: Clark, Hodgs,
Hourigan, Jacobs, Klarenbeek, and Rath. Absent: None. Also present: Interim City Administrator
McDonald, City Engineer Mathis, Finance Officer DeNeui, Assistant Public Works Director
McMahon, Public Safety Director Rotert and Police Chief Jacobs.
Klarenbeek moved, Rath seconded and all voted to approve the agenda. No conflicts of interest
were declared.
Other Items
Award – Clark moved, Klarenbeek seconded and all voted to award the lowest responsive and
responsible bid for the Sandstone Hills Street Repair & Sewer Upsize Project to GTI Companies,
Inc. for $1,491,791.50. Mathis noted the project is budgeted in general and sewer fund for a total of
$1,455,000. The general fund cash balance will be the source of revenue to cover the increased costs
with a budget supplement to be presented later.
There being no further business, Klarenbeek moved, Hodgs seconded and all voted to adjourn at
8:39 a.m.
