THE FOLLOWING MINUTES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION AND ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE SPRING HILL GREEN BOARD Spring Hill Green Board Regular Meeting Minutes January 26, 2015 CALL TO ORDER Doug D’Albini called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm ROLL CALL Present: Laila Reis Doug D’Albini Stephen Bayer Absent: Mark Squire Staff Present: Beau Ford, Parks Superintendent Dora Davison, Green Board Secretary Meeting Attendees: Jason Goin, Director of Spring Hill Recreation Commission APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Laila Reis , seconded by Stephen Bayer to approve the agenda. Motion carried. FORMAL BOARD ITEMS 1. Approval of Minutes: December 15, 2014 Motion by Stephen Bayer , seconded by Laila Reis to approve the Minutes. Motion carried. 2. 2015 Arbor Day Celebration – Daffodil Days will be held Saturday April 25th, 2015. The Green Board will sponsor the event by staffing, organizing and supplying materials for the Color Me Flower Pots activity and provide 150 gift trees for distribution and planting. Plant seeds will also be available for the Color Me Flower Pots activity. The Green Board will also arrange for a civic group to assist in the planting of 6 Giving Grove Trees. Laila Reis volunteered to contact groups to participate in the event. Beau Ford presented different gift tree, plant and herb options to provide at the event. We will finalize the selection on February 16th, 2015 meeting. Green Board Group picture will be taken during the Proclamation presentation. 3. Future SHRC events for board consideration a. June 6, 2015 – Fishing Derby i. Organize and staff a casting contest b. July (TBD) – Touch a Truck i. Organize and staff a recycling day and/or document shredding service 4. Board discussion Melvin Murray Park planning – Beau Ford requested that the Green Board start compiling a list of park requirements and suggestions. Laila Reis asked that Mr. Ford supply a map of the park site to Board members. Melvin Murray Park planning will be a topic of discussion on the February meeting agenda.
