THE FOLLOWING MINUTES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION AND ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE SPRING HILL GREEN BOARD Spring Hill Green Board Regular Meeting Minutes November 16, 2015 CALL TO ORDER Doug D’Albini called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm ROLL CALL Present: Laila Reis Doug D’Albini Mark Squire Absent: Stephen Bayer Staff Present: Beau Ford, Parks Superintendent Meeting Attendees: APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Mark Squire, seconded by Laila Reis to approve the agenda. Motion carried. FORMAL BOARD ITEMS 1. Approval of Minutes: September 21, 2015 Motion by Laila Reis, seconded by Mark Squire to approve the Minutes. Motion carried. 2. 2015 Green Board Group picture will be deferred until December meeting. 3. Recycling – Ripple or AGC a. Mark has been in contact w/ Ripple glass and Sharon Mitchel w/ the Chamber of Commerce about finding a host sponsor to place a Ripple glass container at a business in town. Currently Price Chopper would be the ideal location and Sharon will be contacting Price Chopper. Board spoke about possible ways to promote the container via city web site, Facebook & newsletter. Board members will also volunteer to help keep the area clean if/when needed. 4. Community Gardening a. Beau Ford spoke to the board about how community gardens typically work in other cities and the city does not run the gardens. Generally a gardening group will be formed, determine their plot size, rates, rules etc… If residents in the city have an interest they can contact or attend a Green Board meeting about getting a gardening group and community garden started. Focus has turned at this time to community composting area and possibly a brush site. Beau will also contact other organizations or cities to discuss how to operate a community compost area. OTHER BUSINESS ADJOURN Motion by Mark Squire, seconded by Laila Reis to adjourn.
