RECORD OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT CHARLES, MISSOURI May 20, 2014 ______________________________________________________________________________ The City Council convened in Regular Session on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the fourth floor of City Hall, 200 North Second Street, with President of the Council Dave Beckering, presiding, The Honorable Mayor Sally A. Faith and the Members of the Council present as follows: Tom Besselman, John Hanneke, Rod Herrmann, Bridget Ohmes, Mary Ann Ohms, Jerry Reese and Ron Stivison. Absent: Laurie Feldman and Mary West. City Clerk Laura L. Whitehead was present and performed the duties of that office. File # 48108 The meeting was opened with the Invocation, those present standing in a moment of silence, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. A motion was made by BRIDGET OHMES to excuse the absence of Councilmember Laurie Feldman and Councilmember Mary West. RON STIVISON seconded the motion. All voted in favor, motion passed. REPORT OF THE MAYOR/AWARDS/PROCLAMATIONS/PRESENTATIONS Recognition of Volunteers for 2014 Mission: Clean Stream Mayor Sally Faith and Project Manager from the Public Works Department John Reeves provided an update relative to the event. File #48106 Written and/or Verbal Messages from the Mayor Mayor Faith announced the St. Charles First Responders and Paramedics was a recipient of the Bronze Mission: Lifeline® EMS Award. Mayor Faith read an email she received from a resident who attended the annual Public Works Day Event with her grandson. The resident and the grandson thanked the Mayor for the event and stated all the people there were nice! Mayor Faith read a thank you note she received from a resident of 78 years. The resident thanked the Mayor for providing the utility tax rebate program to the residents. Mayor Faith announced there are a lot of “happenings” going on this month in the City of St. Charles. Councilmember Reese further reported as Liaison on the Commission meetings with Mayor Faith, Director of Administration Michael Spurgeon, President of the Commission and himself will be held twice a year to express the Commission’s interests. The Commission will also begin making recommendations to the full Council. APPROVAL OF CLOSED MINUTES A motion was made by RON STIVISON to approve the following closed session minutes: A.
