RECORD OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT CHARLES, MISSOURI December 15, 2015 ______________________________________________________________________________ The City Council convened in a Regular City Council Meeting on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at 7:10 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the fourth floor of City Hall, 200 North Second Street, with President of the Council Mary Ann Ohms, presiding, The Honorable Mayor Sally A. File #48480 Written and/or Verbal Messages from the Mayor Mayor Faith announced there is a lot “happening” in Saint Charles this time of year. For more information on Christmas Traditions and other events, visit www.historicstcharles.com. Mayor Faith read a letter she received from Mr. & Mrs. Herzig of Addieville, Illinois. The letter explained the wonderful memories they’ve experienced attending the Christmas Traditions event in the past several years. One favorite memory took place a couple of years ago. The couple mentioned to the Christmas Tradition carolers their son was living in Hawaii and wouldn’t be able to make it home for that particular Christmas Holiday. The carolers sung Mele Kalikimaka for the couple. The following year they attended the event and were hoping to locate the carolers. They located the carolers and couldn’t believe they were the same group of carolers. Discussion ensued relative to the possibility of assigning four of these proposed surplus vehicles as take-home vehicles for police officers who are residents of the City, the cost involved for maintaining vehicles 10-12 years of age, the fleet rotation schedule, the number of vehicles needed to provide every city resident police officer a take-home vehicle and the number of vehicles needed to bring the police department fleet vehicles to full capacity. Councilmember Beckering reported additional funds were placed in the 2016 CIP and that Administration considers using a portion of these funds for purchasing additional police officer vehicles.
