The applicant is requesting approval to install a combination 4-foot and 6-foot tall wood fence in the rear yard. The applicant is requesting approval to build a shed roof over the rear 1-story stairway to protect it from the weather. The applicant is requesting approval to replace the balcony with a matching balcony but use steel brackets instead of wood. Structure Review Section 400.1180 Purpose The purpose of this subchapter is to protect, enhance, and perpetrate buildings, structures, districts, and sites of historical, cultural, architectural, engineering or geographic significance. Further, protection of cultural assets from demolition by neglect is an objective of this subchapter. Please note: Obtaining a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Landmarks Board does not authorize the applicant to build a structure. Building permits are required prior to construction. The applicant is requesting approval to rebuild the front wall and the north ends of the side walls, replace the windows and remove the portico.
