1. Call to Order & Introduction: The Tourism Commission meeting was called to order at 4:03 p.m. by Chair Scott
Tate. Other Commissioners present were: Council Liaison John Hanneke, Vice Chair Dorothy Boshears, Dan
Badock, Chris Comotto, Michelle Giessman, Ann Hazelwood, Tim Lewin, and April Moxley. Also present was
Director of the Saint Charles Convention & Visitors Bureau Joe Ward, Assistant Director Elizabeth Phelps, Sales
Director Joanie Ohlms and Staff Liaison Sarah Brady. Commissioners absent were: Mayor Sally Faith, Alternate
Council Liaison Vince Ratchford, Sheri Steffans, and Greg Van Wyck.
2. Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Mr. Badock to approve the October 26, 2017 meeting minutes. The
motion was seconded by Ms. Moxley, and approved unanimously.
3. Financial Report: A motion was made by Ms. Comotto to approve the financial report. The motion was seconded
by Mr. Lewin, and approved unanimously.
4. Presentations:
a. STR Report: Mr. Lewin presented the STR report.
b. Convention Center Report: Mr. Ward presented the Convention Center report.
5. Convention and Visitors Bureau Update: Mr. Ward provided an update on CVB activities
6. Marketing Update: A motion was made by Ms. Hazelwood to approve the Marketing Update. The motion was
seconded by Mr. Hanneke, and was approved unanimously.
7. Public Announcements: None
8. Announcements & Miscellaneous: None
9. Reports
a. Mayor’s Report: None
b. Council Liaison: None
10. Adjournment: A motion was made by Mr. Hanneke to adjourn the meeting at 5:00 p.m. The motion was seconded
by Ms. Giessman, and approved unanimously.
