City Council

Special Council Meeting July 17, 2018 7:00PM Mayor Scott Schultz called the special meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Present were Council Members Kale Dankenbring, Amanda Milne, Roger Jensen, Dara Carmichael, and Larry Finley. Also present were City Superintendent JR Landenberger and City Clerk Lila Whitmore. The Council reviewed the draft budget prepared by Angela Ketterl with Adams Brown Beran & Ball. The Council approved increasing the amount of money allocated for Options Domestic Violence and Western Kansas Child Advocacy Center from $1000 each to $1500 each. There were some corrections and changes noted for line items in the General Fund and Clerk Whitmore will let Angela know about these. The Council discussed the Capital Improvement fund and the amounts that they would like designated for 2019 projects - $200,000 for electrical infrastructure and $100,000 for streets. The budgeted transfers may need to be adjusted. JR and Lila will review the activity in the Capital Improvement fund for 2018 and get the information out to the Council. The Council called for a special meeting to be held on Monday July 23 prior to the regular Council meeting in order to review this information and finalize the budget.
