Environmental Commission Invasive Plant Removal

2025 ANJEC Grant Open Space Stewardship Project Kickoff Work Event The Stanhope Environmental Commission cordially invites the public to volunteer and/or come and learn more about this project, where we will: ​ Be removing invasive plant species and planting natives in order to create wildlife habitat & establish trails to create fishing access to Furnace Pond. ​ Be coordinating with the Canal Society of NJ (CSNJ) to create signs detailing the history of that section of the Morris Canal, Furnace Pond, and the old Iron Works. When: Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 1 PM Where: Bridge - behind the Stanhope Post Office Special Gratitude to: The Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC) & Veolia for awarding us a $1500.00 grant/each to complete this project.
