City Council Regular Meeting

CITY OF STAR COUNCIL MEETING April 21, 1998  The Star City Council met in Special session on April 21, 1998. Mayor Watson presiding. Roll call: Amsden, Kirtley, O'Connor, Embury, Ross. Absent: Winkle ADA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPT-Detective Rod Marshall , part of the Ada County Drug and Gang Unit, addressed the City Council and the citizens of Star regarding gang violence, how gangs and drugs go hand in hand and how to identify gangs. Detective Marshall brought “gangster” paraphernalia to demonstrate how gangs operate and their identifying features. ADA COUNTY HIGHWAY DISTRICT: ACHD Commissioners, Gary Richardson and Susan Eastlake attended the meeting and reviewed ACHD’s role in the community. The Commissioners introduced staff members Larry Sale, planner/development services, Kent Brown, Engineer, Errol Morgan, maintenance and operation, Jerry Nyman, ACHD Director, and Terry Little, traffic signals. Questions were brought up about the single lane on Star Rd, the proposed Star Comprehensive Plan Transportation component, truck parking on Star Rd., and sidewalk plans for the community. Moved by Kirtley and seconded by Ross to adjourn the meeting.
