Star City Council Meeting Minutes February 17, 2009 The regular meeting of the Star City Council was held on February 17, 2009 at the Star City Hall. Mayor Nathan Mitchell called the meeting to order and all stood for the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: Councilpersons Tammy McDaniel, Dustin Christopherson, Tom Erlebach and Chad Bell were all present. Approval of the Agenda: Christopherson moved to approve the agenda, Erlebach seconded the motion. Item 6A will not be heard tonight at the request of the applicant. All aye: motion carried. Consent Agenda: The Consent Agenda consisted of: Regular Meeting Minutes of February 3, 2009 and Findings of Fact & Conclusions of Law for Patriot Pawn. Bell moved to approve the Consent Agenda, McDaniel seconded the motion. All aye: motion carried. Public Input/Presentations: Star Police Monthly Report – Chief Ken Ramage gave the monthly report. All three of the person crimes were children under age were given tattoos by an adult. There were four vandalisms in town regarding red paint. Two residential burglaries – due to open doors and the rest were petty thefts. We’ve received very few complaints about the lower speed limits. Committee Reports – None given. Public Input - None was given. Public Hearing: Coehlo/Cunningham Comprehensive Plan Amendment/Rezone – The Mayor stated the applicants have asked for this application to be tabled to March 17, 2009. McDaniel moved to table the Coehlo/Cunningham Comprehensive Plan Amendment/Rezone application to March 17, 2009, Christopherson seconded the motion. All aye: motion carried. Reports: Council – Christopherson stated that there was record attendance at the EDC meeting. 1 Erlebach stated that Parks & Rec. had their fourth and final skate competition – all went very well and seventeen kids attended. Bell stated that there is a legal notice in the paper for the Meridian School District, but it is unclear what the bond election is for. Chris Stokes will be talking with the School District to find out what the bonding is for. Mayor – The Mayor stated that there will be a site walk through and workshop here on February 27 & 28 for the River Walk. COMPASS Legislative Reception will be held on February 19 at the Plaza 121. Legislators will be there and the Council may attend. TVTV will be filming the Mayor on Thursday night. We have a draft report from Galena regarding impact fees. The Impact Fee Committee is reworking the math on impact fees. The Council will approve the committee at the next meeting. The Mayor asked if Council had received the updated Unified Code. The Council has not received the update. Gary Smith stated that there is an ESTech meeting this Friday, it is the monthly meeting. BVEP has stated that Star and Eagle may combine their membership to total $2500, we will have the same representation. Any profits from ESTech will go to The Landing in Eagle and the Outreach program in Star. Adjournment: Christopherson moved to adjourn the meeting, Erlebach seconded the motion.
