1. CALL TO ORDER
Dana Partridge called the Activities Committee Meeting to order at 6:30 pm
2. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Dana Partridge, Kevan Wheelock, Larry Osborn, Carson Dial, Chief Zach Hessing, Chief Victor Islas,
Hans Hamilton, Justin May, Judy Wheelock, Mayor Trevor Chadwick, David Westphal. Excused Absent, Diane
Moya, Rebecca Gordon, Carol Westphal.
3. MEMBER REPORTS
New committee members, Carson Dial and Hans Hamilton were introduced. David Westphal attended
in place of Carol Westphal. New member Diane Moya was absent.
Carson Dial offered to help coordinate the Fun Run. He will need assistance since it is his first time
coordinating the event.
Kevan Wheelock introduced Hans Hamilton as his replacement for the parade. They would contact
Northwest Traffic Services to start getting parade and traffic permits from Idaho Transportation
Department and Ada County Highway District.
Justin May suggested ordering 500 lunches this year. We had only 250 last year and ran out quickly.
Dana will coordinate with Senior Center on Pie Auction, Lions on Pie-A-Lion, and Anthony Mendoza,
our auctioneer.
Dana spoke with Rebecca Gordon before the meeting. Rebecca has already ordered the kids water
games for the event. She has added additional slip and slide events.
Chief Victor would like to rethink how the food trucks are placed this year. He would like pre-approval
of the placement map before the event.
A discussion was had on the sound issues over the past two years. Since we opened the west baseball
field, people in that area cannot see the stage or hear the music. People along the back berm also had
trouble hearing. The Mayor would like to see an improvement. Larry Osborn suggested calling
Amplified Production Group. Dana will call and get an estimate for next meeting.
Mayor said the fireworks show would be bigger this year. The U.S. sparkler flag fell a bit flat. That
money would be put into additional aerials this year. Dana noted that community feedback asked for
more patriotic music during the show.
