Tuesday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. for the beautification awards. There will be a
reserved sign in the front row for the members to sit. Isom asked Bondarek to
send him the script and he will be doing the presentation. Bondarek added that we
will also be recognizing a “nice neighbor award” following the awards for a cul-
de-sac that the surrounding neighbors landscape.
Old Business:
• Isom had reached out to Bondarek via email asking how we could partner with
micro-forest that was proposed in the ARPA Action Plan. Bondarek reached out
to DPW who said that project is on hold currently while other topics of interest
for City Council are pursued. If the project continues DPW will loop us in.
• The Commission will be hosting a Native Plant pop up sale at Fall Day at our
Dodge Park Farmers Market on September 21 from 3-8pm put on by East
Michigan Native Plants, LLC. Burns stated that they will bring 6 big racks filled
with plants on both sides as well as some small trees. Burns, Lane and Hobig said
they will be in attendance to help. Bondarek added that unfortunately because this
event is part of the Farmers Market, the city is not allowed to “highlight” just one
vendor at the market so we may not get as much marketing as we hoped for.
• Isom stated that Sterlingfest this year was a success and well organized.
New Business:
• None
