CITY OF STERLING HEIGHTS CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION, ACT 78 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF MAY 20, 2014 The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission, Act 78, was held in Room 201, City Hall, 40555 Utica Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan. 1. The meeting was called to order at 3:17 p.m. by Chairwoman Terri Jarema. 2. Roll Call Present: Chairwoman Terri Jarema, Commissioner Irv Droste, and Commissioner Jerry Griesbeck Also present: Mark Carufel, City Clerk and Donald DeNault, City Attorney 3. Approval of Agenda Moved by Griesbeck, supported by Droste, to approve the agenda as presented. Yes: All. The motion carried. 4. Approval of minutes of regular meeting of April 24, 2014. Moved by Droste, supported Griesbeck by, to approve the minutes of the April 24, 2014 meeting. Yes: All. The motion carried. 5. Review and certification of Police Captain Promotional Eligibility List and the Police Lieutenant Promotional Eligibility List. The promotional eligibility list for police captain consisted of 3 candidates that received the minimum passing score of 70. The promotional eligibility list for police lieutenant consisted of 6 candidates that received the minimum passing score of 70. The Commissioners reviewed both lists. The promotional eligibility lists are for a two-year period of May 20, 2014 to May 19, 2016 Moved by Griesbeck, supported by Droste, to approve the Police Captain Promotional Eligibility List and the Police Lieutenant Promotional Eligibility List as presented. Yes: All. The motion carried. 6. Communications from Citizens  There were no communications from citizens 7. New Business There was no new business. 8.
