CITY OF STERLING HEIGHTS CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION, ACT 78 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF MAY 30, 2019 The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission, Act 78, was held in Conference Room 202, City Hall, 40555 Utica Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan. 1. Call to Order. The meeting was called to order at 10:07 a.m. by Chair Terri Jarema. 2. Roll Call. Present: Chair Terri Jarema, Commissioner Kevin Conlan Absent: Commissioner Jerry Griesbeck Also present: Judy McHale, Clerk Coordinator; Kate Baldwin, Human Resources and Benefits Manager; Don DeNault, City Attorney; Ed Miller, Assistant Fire Chief; Chris Martin, Fire Chief; David Allen, Police Sergeant. 3. Approval of Agenda. Moved by Conlan, supported by Jarema, to approve the agenda as presented. Yes: Conlan, Jarema The motion carried. 4. Approval of minutes of regular meeting of March 13, 2019. Moved by Conlan, supported by Jarema, to approve the minutes of the March 13, 2019 meeting as presented. Yes: Conlan, Jarema The motion carried. 5. Review and approval of Firefighter Eligibility List. Commissioners were provided with a new Firefighter Eligibility list, effective May 30, 2019.  Civil Service Commission, Act 78 Meeting of March 13, 2019 Page 2 Moved by Conlan, supported by Jarema, to approve the Firefighter Eligibility List effective May 30, 2019. Yes: Conlan, Jarema The motion carried. 6. Review and approval of Police Captain Eligibility List. Commissioners were provided with a new Police Captain Eligibility list, effective May 30, 2019. Moved by Conlan, supported by Jarema, to approve the approve the requirements and testing process for Police Captain eligibility list. Yes: Conlan, Jarema The motion carried. 7. Communications from Citizens There were no communications from citizens. 8. New Business. None. 9. Adjourn.
