CITY OF STERLING HEIGHTS CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION, ACT 78 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF FEBRUARY 17, 2022 The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission, Act 78, was held in Conference Room 109, City Hall, 40555 Utica Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan. 1. Call to Order. The meeting was called to order at 12:03 p.m. by Chair Terri Jarema. 2. Roll Call. Present: Chair Terri Jarema (Sterling Heights, MI) Commissioner Kevin Conlan (Bennett, FL) Absent: Commissioner Jerry Griesbeck Also present: Melanie Ryska, Clerk; Don DeNault, Assistant City Attorney; Kate Baldwin, Human Resources Manager; Jess Karim, Human Resources Coordinator 3. Approval of Agenda. Moved by Conlan, supported by Jarema, to approve the agenda as presented. Yes: Conlan, Jarema Absent: Griesbeck No: None The motion carried. 4. Approval of the minutes from the meeting of December 07, 2021 Moved by Conlan, supported by Jarema, to the minutes from the meeting of December 07, 2021. Review and approve Firefighter Eligibility List Chair Jarema inquired as to how some scores are over 100. Ms. Baldwin explained that this was how the raw scores were calculated. Moved by Conlan, supported by Jarema, to approve the Firefighter Eligibility List effective February 16, 2022. Yes: Conlan, Jarema Absent: Griesbeck No: None The motion carried. 7. Communications from Citizens There were no communications from citizens. 8. New Business. There was no new business. 9. Adjourn.
