CITY OF STERLING HEIGHTS CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION, ACT 78 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 18, 2022 The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission, Act 78, was held in Conference Room 106, City Hall, 40555 Utica Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan. 1. Call to Order. The meeting was called to order at 3:01 p.m. by Chair Terri Jarema. 2. Roll Call. Present: Chair Terri Jarema (Sterling Heights, MI) Commissioner Jerry Griesbeck (Scottsdale, AZ) Commissioner Kevin Conlan (Bennett, FL) Also present: Melanie Ryska, Clerk; Don DeNault, Assistant City Attorney; Kate Baldwin, Human Resources Manager; Jess Karim, Human Resources Coordinator; Kevin Edmond, Fire Chief 3. Approval of Agenda. Moved by Conlan, supported by Griesbeck, to approve the agenda as presented. Yes: All No: None The motion carried. 4. Review and approve amended Firefighter Eligibility List City Attorney DeNault noted that the amendment of the list was due to an administerial error with the scores, which has been corrected. Moved by Conlan, supported by Griesbeck, to approve the amended Firefighter Eligibility List effective February 16, 2022. Yes: All No: None The motion carried. 5. HR Manager Baldwin noted that the next thing that will become before the Commission will be the approval of the Police Lieutenant Eligibility List. 7. Adjourn.
