CITY OF STERLING HEIGHTS CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION, ACT 78 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF MAY 25, 2022 The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission, Act 78, was held in Conference Room 106, City Hall, 40555 Utica Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan. 1. Call to Order. The meeting was called to order at 12:03 p.m. by Chair Terri Jarema. 2. Roll Call. Present: Chair Terri Jarema (Sterling Heights, MI) Commissioner Kevin Conlan (Sterling Heights, MI) Absent: Commissioner Jerry Griesbeck Also present: Melanie Ryska, Clerk; Don DeNault, Assistant City Attorney; Kate Baldwin, Human Resources Manager; Sarah Scowden, Human Resources Coordinator; Scott Lucas, Police Captain 3. Approval of Agenda. Moved by Conlan, supported by Jarema, to approve the agenda as presented. Yes: Conlan, Jarema Absent: Griesbeck No: None The motion carried. 4. Approval of the minutes from the meeting of February 17, 2022 Moved by Conlan, supported by Jarema, to the minutes from the meeting of February 17, 2022. Review and approve Police Lieutenant Eligibility List Moved by Conlan, supported by Jarema, to approve the Police Lieutenant Eligibility List effective May 25, 2022 through May 24, 2022. Yes: Conlan, Jarema Absent: Griesbeck No: None The motion carried. 7. Communications from Citizens There were no communications from citizens. 8. New Business. Ms. Baldwin reported that the firefighter eligibility list has been exhausted so it will be necessary to approve new minimum requirements in the next few months. 9. Adjourn.
