STERLING HEIGHTS HOUSING COMMISSION
October 10, 2017
Call To Order by President Miller at 6:04 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation.
Roll Call. Present: Miller, Szatkowski, Venetis. Walker. Present: Executive Director Teresa
Jarzab, Public Housing Manager Rachel Tononi. Absent: Taylor
Approval of Agenda . Moved by Szatkowski, support by Walker to approve agenda. Ayes: All.
Approval of Minutes . Moved by Venetis, support by Szatkowski to approve the September
12, 2017 minutes as presented. Ayes: All.
Executive Director Report. None
Monthly Financial Reports.
Moved by Walker support by Szatkowski to approve the Schoenherr Towers Operating Summaries.
Ayes: All. Szatkowski asked why the Comerica bank statement balance is different on the
cash flow statement. Tononi stated she will check and reply via email.
Moved by Venetis, support by Szatkowski to approve the Section 8 Voucher Program Operating
Summaries. Ayes: All.
Service Coordinator Report
Social worker Michelle Horgan worked with 60 clients in September.
Public Housing Report.
100% occupied. 1 move outs, 2 move ins.
Waitlisted: 67
8 leasing calls.
Section 8 Report.
42 families on voucher program. 37 on the waitlist.
0 vouchers available.
Maintenance Report.
2 emergency service requests, 31 YTD. 120 service requests, 1,082 YTD.
Living room windows to arrive Oct 20th.
Parking lot repair and crack fill project is complete
HUD REAC inspection scheduled for November 7, 2017
Business.

1. Monthly Management Reports. Moved by Venetis, support by Walker to approve the
monthly management reports as presented by Fourmidable. Ayes: All.
2. Operating & Voucher Program Summaries (Register & Utility Payables). Moved by
Walker, support by Venetis, to approve the housing assistance program register and utility
payables as presented by Fourmidable. Ayes: All.
3. SEMAP. Moved by Walker, support by Venetis, to approve the SEMAP certification
report and authorize Fourmidable to submit on behalf of the Sterling Heights Housing
Commission.
4. 2017-2018 Schoenherr Towers Operating & Voucher Budget. Moved by Szatkowski,
support by Walker, to approve the 2017-2018 budgets for the Sterling Heights Housing
Commission Voucher program and Schoenherr towers.
Public Participation.
A luncheon on October 14th will be provided by St. Ephrem also bingo and other events will
be held. There will be cider and donuts for Halloween.
