Building-Wide Stats – FY2011 / FY2012 Board reviewed statistics. Total Building Reference numbers are down due to less staff being available at the Information and Reference desks. Patrons have to wait longer to be assisted or give up because they don’t want to wait. Program attendance comparing last May to this may up. Turgeon and the Board are very happy with the program offerings this year. The library held 439 programs last year with 21,859 in attendance through May and 398 this year with 20,012 in attendances through May. With 41 fewer programs our attendance drop is very small. B. Monthly Issues – May 2012 Board reviewed the monthly issues report. Replacement PC installation was highlighted as a benefit of belonging to the SLC Shared System. The Board noted the increase in payments at Circulation using a charge card. Turgeon indicated that the fees for the year are approximately $650. This option has been positively received by patrons. The Board also noted the new Shake, Rattle and Roll program seems to have received a positive response. C. Compliment/Complaint Forms Board reviewed compliments and complaints. The library continues to receive many positive comments about our programming offerings, including the computer classes, toddler time, and the new Shake, Rattle, and Roll created by Tish Huang. Programs will continue with the Friends funding, but we will have to cut back on the number of programs due to staffing levels. Internet complaints were sent responses. Problems seem to be resolved. VI. Suburban Library Cooperative No report. VII. Friends of the Library A. Bookstore Sales Bookstore sales for 2012 are down from last year. The Friends drawings for June are going well and seem to have helped sales pick up. VIII. Unfinished Business A. Library Board Bylaws Revision Board reviewed the revision to the Library Board Bylaws.
