Set Call for Special Town Meeting on October 6, 2025 to consider and vote upon (action
item)
o FIRST: A resolution to abate the real property taxes on the October 1, 2024 Grand List
for property located at Pequot Trail, Map/Block/Lot: 96/2/7, recently acquired by
Avalonia Land Conservancy, Inc., which taxes total $1,849.90.
o SECOND: A resolution to consider and vote on a resolution to revise and modify the
Town Ordinance establishing the Town’s Commission on Aging to update the duties of
said Commission.
o THIRD: A resolution to revise and modify an Ordinance of the Town of Stonington,
Connecticut, providing for an update to the Parking and Traffic Regulations to include
revisions to general parking restrictions regarding parking near stop signs erected by
the traffic authority in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes section 14-301
and intersections or marked crosswalks.
o FOURTH: A resolution for an ordinance of the Town of Stonington, Connecticut,
providing for a property tax exemption for surviving spouses of persons killed in action
while performing active military duty with the armed forces.
o FIFTH: A resolution for an ordinance of the Town of Stonington, Connecticut, providing
for a property tax exemption for veterans with a service-connected total disability based
on individual unemployability.
