MINUTES – PLAN COMMISSION MEETING CITY HALL OFFICES 204 S BLOOMINGTON STREET CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS January 9, 2024 - 6:00 P.M. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Danko called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. ROLL CALL: Members present: Harry Godfrey, Jeff Hatzer, Theresa Solon Wargo, and Chairman Dan Danko. Members absent: Dean Chalkey, Scott Scheuer, and Janet Strabala. Staff present: Jeremy Palm, City Engineer, and Patricia Henderson, City Clerk. MINUTES: Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of November 14, 2023. Chairman Danko requested a motion and second to approve the minutes from the November 14, 2023 meeting. MOTION: Hatzer made a motion to approve the minutes; seconded by Solon Wargo. ROLL: Ayes: Godfrey, Hatzer, Solon Wargo, and Chairman Danko. Absent: Chalkey, Scheuer, and Strabala. Motion passed. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Chairman Danko requested public comments within the 3-minute limit. There were none. NEW BUSINESS 1. PLAN COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION 2024-01. Recommending approval or denial for the award of a “Facade Grant” to property owner, Jason Francis, 1109 N. Bloomington Street, Streator, Illinois, in the amount of $30,000. Chairman Danko requested a motion and second to approve or deny the award of a “Facade Grant” to property owner, Jason Francis, 1109 N. Bloomington Street, Streator, Illinois, in the amount of $30,000. MOTION: Godfrey made a motion to approve and award the Facade Grant; seconded by Solon Wargo. Palm reported to the Commission this is not a downtown application and may not be funded until after July 1, 2024, but he would like to present this to the Council ROLL: Ayes: Godfrey, Hatzer, Solon Wargo, and Chairman Danko. Absent: Chalkey, Scheuer, and Strabala. Motion passed. STATUS REPORTS: Palm gave a brief status report. PLAN COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS: There were none. ADJOURNMENT: AT 6:06 P.M. Chairman Danko requested a motion and second to adjourn. MOTION: Solon Wargo made a motion to adjourn the meeting; seconded by Hatzer. ROLL: Ayes: Godfrey, Hatzer, Solon Wargo, and Chairman Danko.
