DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. DISC GOLF COURSE – Update by Christopher Stone.
Christopher Stone reported to the board that with a $1,000 grant, donations, and fundraising,
the league can add (6) six additional holes to the course. He just needs a green light from an
administrator for the go ahead to get started. Jeff Long, Public Works Director, and Christopher
will meet next week to get them started.
2. STRATEGIC PLAN – Survey results. We still have 3 members who have not filled out the
surveys.
3. MARILLA PARK
Construction timeline. – Construction will begin June 1.
Logan’s Oasis – Continuing fundraising. Should be completed by the end of year.
SHS Shelter Project – Long said it looks like SHS students will build a shelter for Spring Lake next
year. In the future, they may possibly replace the benches and signs in the park.
4. MERRINER’S PARK
Playground equipment arrived and is in the armory. We hope to start on it next week.
PB grant application – No update. Board member Martin told Long that the court at the YMCA
is a good model to use for constructing the Pickleball courts.
5. BODZINICK AND SOUTHSIDE PARKS LIGHTING PROJECT – Bid opening for this project is
tomorrow.
6. COMMUNITY SOCCER GOALS No update.
7. UPCOMING GRANT OPPORTUNITIES. The mayor said we probably have to complete the
current project before we can apply again for this grant.
COMMENTS FROM BOARD MEMBERS
Caulkins – Wanted to know if anything had progressed on the sidewalk conditions in her
neighborhood. She reported they are very bad.
Sedlock – She wanted to know about the condition of the shelter at Merriner Park and also
reported there are a lot of dirt bikes being ridden in City Park.
ADJOURNMENT
AT 7:02 P.M. Chairman Wheeler requested a motion and second to adjourn the meeting.
