Consent Agenda - A resolution to accept and appropriate funds from the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services Rescue Squad Assistance Fund (RSAF) for the Suffolk Department of Fire and Rescue Approved 8-0 8. Public Hearing - An ordinance to receive public comment on designating the Central and Northern Suburban/Urban Growth Areas of the City of Suffolk, Virginia as Recovery Zones for purposes of Recovery Zone Bonds Approved 8-0 9. Staff Report - Suffolk Initiative on Youth Crime Prevention Plan Update No City Council action required 12. Staff Report - Commercial Refuse Collection in the Driver Community A motion to eliminate free solid waste collection by the City to businesses in the Village of Driver with 60-day notice was approved by a vote of 8-0. 13. Motion - A motion to schedule a Work Session for September 15, 2010, at 4:00 p.m., unless canceled or called earlier by the Mayor Approved 8-0 14. New Business A motion to nominate and appoint the following individuals was approved by a vote of 8-0: South Hampton Roads Disability Services Board - Brian Parker Virginia Municipal League Annual Business Meeting - Council Member Leroy Bennett (voting member) and Council Member Joseph H. Barlow (alternate voting member) Virginia Municipal League Urban Section - Council Member Leroy Bennett (voting member), Council Member Joseph H. Barlow (alternate voting member), and Sherry Hunt (Staff Assistant) A motion to direct City Administration to investigate a street name change from Edwards Avenue to Edward Avenue was approved by a vote of 8-0. A motion to direct City Administration to review Section 31-606 of the Unified Development Ordinance regarding the parking and storage of certain vehicles prohibited in specific districts was approved by a vote of 8-0. A motion to nominate and appoint Council Member Robert C. Barclay IV to the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce United States Joint Forces Command Task Force was approved by a vote of 8-0. 2 16.
