Special Presentation - United States Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) No City Council action required. 5. Removal of Items from the Consent Agenda and Adoption of the Agenda A motion to remove Consent Agenda Item #7 for a separate vote and adopt the remainder of the agenda as presented was approved 8-0 6. Agenda Speakers No City Council action required. 7. Consent Agenda - A resolution abolishing the Sister Cities Commission (This item was removed from the Consent Agenda for a separate vote.) A motion to continue consideration of this item to the March 16, 2011, City Council meeting was approved by a vote of 8-0. 8. Consent Agenda - A resolution to accept and appropriate funds for the Westport Commerce Park Standpipe and Pump Station Project Approved 8-0 9. Public Hearing - An ordinance granting Conditional Use Permit Request C20-10, Brentwood Road, submitted by Mary Jane Casey and Herbert C. Haskin, applicant and property owners, to permit an accessory dwelling unit in accordance with Sections 31-306, 31-406, and 31-701(b) of the Unified Development Ordinance Approved 8-0 10. Ordinances No City Council action required. 11. Resolutions No City Council action required. 12. Staff Report - 2011 General Assembly Update No City Council action required. Staff Report - City Code Section 54-88- Distribution of Handbillls, Circulars, and Similar Materials (It was the consensus of City Council to move this item from the Work Session to the Regular Session.) No City Council action required. 13. Motion - Consideration of an appeal of the Historic Landmarks Commission’s decision to deny an after-the-fact installation of vinyl siding on a structure located at 316 Pinner Street (This item was continued from the December 15, 2010, City Council meeting.) A motion to approve an after-the-fact installation of vinyl siding on a structure located at 316 Pinner Street was approved by a vote of 5-3. (Council Members Barclay, Bennett and Duman voted in opposition.) 14. Motion - A motion to schedule a Work Session for March 2, 2011, at 4:00 p.m., unless canceled Approved 8-0 15. Non-Agenda Speakers No City Council action required. 16. New Business A motion to direct the City Manager to prepare a motion for the March 2, 2011, City Council meeting to request the Planning Commission to initiate modifications to the Suffolk Historic and Cultural Overlay District and provide City Council with recommendations was approved by a vote of 8-0. A motion to direct the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance to repeal City Code Section 54-88 for the March 2, 2011, City Council meeting was approved by a vote of 8-0. 2 A motion to nominate and appoint the following individuals to the respective boards and commissions was approved 8-0: Community Policy and Management Team, Parent Representative - Jewel Goodman Economic Development Authority of the City of Suffolk - Dwight Nixon Library Board - Barbara Banze Clean Community Commission - Carolyn Butler Tidewater Emergency Medical Services Council - John Hoffler 17.
