City Council Special Meeting February 8, 2012 A Special Meeting of the Suffolk City Council was held in the City Council Chamber on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. PRESENT Council Members - Linda T. Johnson, Mayor, presiding Charles F. Brown, Vice Mayor Robert C. Barclay IV (arrived 1:59 p.m.) Leroy Bennett Michael D. Duman Jeffrey L. Gardy (arrived 1:10 p.m.) Curtis R. Milteer, Sr. (arrived 1:20 p.m.) Charles D. Parr, Sr. Patrick Roberts G. Roberts, Deputy City Manager (represented City Manager from 1:00 p.m. – 1:01 p.m.) Selena Cuffee-Glenn, City Manager William E. Hutchings, Jr., Deputy City Attorney Erika S. Dawley, City Clerk ABSENT None Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order and advised there was a motion for a Closed Meeting. CLOSED MEETING Council Member Parr, on a motion seconded by Council Member Duman, moved that City Council convene in a closed meeting for the following purposes, by the following roll call vote: 1. Pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3711(A)(1), the discussion, consideration, or interviews of prospective candidates for appointment; and the assignment, appointment, and performance of specific public officers or appointees of the City, specifically the interviews of prospective candidates for the position of City Attorney.
