STAFF REPORT Staff Report - Plan of Finance for the 2024 Bond Issuances Utilizing a PowerPoint presentation, Kyle Laux, Senior Vice President, Davenport and Company, Incorporated, provided a report about the above referenced topic. Staff Report – City of Suffolk’s Local Plan for Marcus Alert and Community Paramedicine Implementation Plan Utilizing a PowerPoint presentation, Staci Young, Director of Acute Care Crisis Services, Western Tidewater Community Services Board, Interim Police Major Jesse Epperson, Fire Captain Ray Willet, and Shelley Shelton, CIT and Marcus Alert Coordinator for the Western Tidewater Community Services Board gave a summary of the background information as printed in the official agenda. Members of City Council opined about the Marcus Alert and Community Paramedicine and Implementation Plan. Referring to the presentation, Council Member Rector asked about the role of the Suffolk Police Department in the event that an individual is taken to the Western Tidewater Community Services Board instead of a local hospital. Ms. Shelton replied in that scenario, the local police may or may not have to be involved. Council Member Bennett opined about the retirement of Rutherford Whitfield from Suffolk Public Schools after 70 years of service. Council Member Bennett extended his condolences to the family of the late former Suffolk Police Chief Gilbert Jackson. Council Member Johnson opined about the Suffolk State of the City. Council Member Johnson encouraged residents to apply for the Downtown Advisory Committee. Council Member Johnson announced the upcoming King’s Fork Ruritan 75th Anniversary. Council Member Johnson reported that he would be attending the Cove Point Civic League meeting. Council Member Johnson opined about the City of Suffolk’s Local Plan for Marcus Alert and Community Paramedicine Implementation Plan. Council Member Rector opined about the Suffolk State of the City. Council Member Rector opined about the Planning and Community Development’s Department’s tall grass regulations.
