CITY OF SUFFOLK ELECTORAL BOARD DRAFT MINUTES OF EMERGENCY MEETING OCTOBER 15, 2021 _______________________________________________________ In Attendance: Erin Rice, Chairman and Beverly Outlaw, Secretary Absent: Rev. Isaac Baker, Vice Chairman (contacted but was unable to attend) The Suffolk Electoral Board was called to order in emergency session as defined in the Code of Virginia (2.2-3701) by Ms. Rice at 2:35 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2021, at the Voter Registration Office, 440 Market Street, First Floor, Suffolk, Virginia. Ms. Outlaw moved that the Board convene in closed session pursuant to the Code of Virginia 2.23_711 to discuss a personnel matter. Ms. Rice seconded the motion and it was carried. The board convened in closed session at 2:36 p.m. The Board reconvened in open session at 2:46 p.m. Ms. Outlaw certified that only lawfully exempted public business under Code of Virginia 2.2-3711 and only business identified in the motion to close was discussed. The Board so certified by roll call vote: Ms.Rice- yes Ms.Outlaw- yes Ms. Outlaw moved that a city physician provide a return to work clearance for the personnel reviewed. Upon appropriate second the motion was approved unanimously.
