JUNE 20, 2023: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Oaks on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Decoys Restaurant iocated at 3305 Ferry Road,, Suffolk, Virginia at 12:01 p.m. Election Day precinct conditions were discussed during this meeting. There being no further business, the meeting was recessed to continue precinct visits until June 21, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. JUNE 21, 2023: The board reconvened at 9:05 a.m. for the purpose of conducting the Canvass pursuant to the June 20th Dual Primary Election. The meeting was held at 440 Market Street, Suffolk, Va. Attendees were Jim Oaks Chairman, Brent Rowlands Vice-Chairman, Isaac Baker Secretary, Lester Ward Election Official Liaison, Burdette Lawrence General Registrar. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Oaks. Secretary Baker moved that the Board convene in closed session pursuant to the exemption in the Code of Virginia $2.2-3711. Upon appropriate second, the motion was carried and the Board convened in closed session at 9:25 a.m. to discuss and determine the qualification of submitted provisional ballots. Secretary Baker certified that while in closed session, the Board discussed only qualified Provisional Voters as designated in the Code of Virginia $2.2-371 1. The Board went into open session to continue the Canvass of the Dual Primary Election. The Board recessed at 3:30 p.m. JUNE 23,20232 The Board reconvened at 12:03 p. m. in closed session to review qualification of voters who cast I. D. Provisional Ballots. Attendees were Jim Oaks Chairman, Brent Rowlands Vice-Chairman, Isaac Baker Secretary, Burdette Lawrence Generai Registrar. Secretary Baker certified that while in closed session, the Board discussed only qualification of I. D. Provisional voters as designated in the Code of Virginia $2.2-3711. I. D. Provisional Ballots determined to be cast by qualified voters were submitted for counting in the Dual Primary Election. Secretary Baker moved that the Board certifed that only matters conceming I. D. Provisionals were discussed in the closed session then the meeting retumed to open session. The Board received the Post-Election totals from the Central Absentee Precinct then completed the June 20,2023 Dual Primary Canvass.
