SUFFOLK LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD Meeting Minutes April 9, 2019 Board Members Present: Others Present: Mr. Sean Bilby, President Mr. Clint S. Rudy, Director of Libraries Mrs. Nancy Creekmore, Vice-President Ms. Kailee Wolterstorff, Grants and Ms. Jeanette Akujuobi Records Management Administrator Mr. Jeffrey Benton Ms. Megan Corbett Mr. Lee Cross Mrs. Sharon Slate Board Members Absent: Mrs. Ernestine Langston • The meeting was called to order at 2:04 PM by Mr. Sean Bilby, President. • Mrs. Nancy Creekmore made a motion to accept the meeting minutes of the January 8, 2019 meeting. Ms. Corbett seconded the motion, and the minutes were approved by a unanimous vote of 7-0. • Clint S. Rudy, Director of Libraries, shared information about upcoming events and classes, the 2019-2020 proposed Library Budget, and other library information. • Suffolk Literacy Council’s annual fundraiser is Tuesday, May 14 and coincides with the GiveLocal757 regional initiative. Donations are accepted anytime. • Revised 2019 Meeting Schedule was presented for consideration with the July 9 meeting scheduled for the North Suffolk Library and the October 8 meeting scheduled for the Chuckatuck Library. Mr. Lee Cross made a motion to approve the revised scheduled as presented with Ms. Akujuobi providing the second. Approved by a unanimous vote of 7-0. • Mr. Rudy shared information about the next steps in the new Downtown Library process. Discussed options for promoting the process and keeping people engaged and involved. • Ms. Kailee Wolterstorff, Grants and Records Management Administrator, provided an overview of her roles and responsibilities as well as asking for ideas and suggestions for grants or grant worthy projects. • The next meeting will be Tuesday, July 9 at 2 PM in the North Suffolk Library Lobby. • With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:17 PM with Mr. Cross making the motion and Ms. Creekmore providing the second and adjournment was approved by a unanimous vote of 7-0.
