AGENDA SUFFOLK PLANNING COMMISSION OCTOBER 15, 2013 2:00 P.M. 1. Call to Order A. Invocation B. Roll Call 2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting 3. Family Transfer Subdivisions: A. FAMILY TRANSFER SUBDIVISION PLAT FT3-13, submitted by Wayne and Deborah Lankford, property owners, requesting a family transfer subdivision pursuant to Section 31- 514 of the Unified Development Ordinance. The affected property is identified as Zoning Map 15*2, Holy Neck Voting Borough, zoned A, Agricultural Zoning District. B. FAMILY TRANSFER SUBDIVISION PLAT FT4-13, submitted by Susan Mansfield, property owner, requesting a family transfer subdivision pursuant to Section 31-514 of the Unified Development Ordinance. The affected property is identified as Zoning Map 19*86B, Cypress Voting Borough, zoned RE, Rural Estate Zoning District. 4. Public Hearings: A. REZONING REQUEST RZ09-13, submitted by the City of Suffolk, property owner, to request a change in zoning from OI, Office-Institutional, to CBD, Central Business District for properties identified as Tax Map 34G17, Parcels 3*G and A*8 and to request a change in zoning from RM, Residential Medium, to CBD, Central Business District for properties identified as Tax Map 34G17, Parcels A*9, 3*C, 3*D, and 3*F, and a portion of 3*B+E. The purpose of the requested changes in zoning is to consolidate into a single zoning district the lands designated for the expansion of the existing Police Administration Building. The affected properties are located on Spring Street, Henley Place and Pender Street. The 2026 Comprehensive Plan designates this area as a part of the Central Suburban/ Urban Growth Area (Mixed Use Core). B. STREET VACATION REQUEST SV02-13, submitted by the City of Suffolk, applicant and property owner, to vacate two segments of Spring Street located between Pender Street and Henley Place, and Henley Place and North Street. The affected areas are located adjacent to Zoning Map 34G17, Block A, Parcels 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 17*17A, 18*18A, 19, 20, 21, 31, 32, and Zoning Map 34G17, Block 3, Parcels, B+E, D, F, G and Zoning Map 34G17, Block 4, Parcel 1, Suffolk Voting Borough, zoned CBD, Central Business District, O-I, Office- Page 1 Institutional District, RU, Residential Urban District, and RM Residential Medium Density District. The 2026 Comprehensive Plan designates this area as a part of the Central Suburban/ Urban Growth Area (Mixed Use Core). 5. Old Business 6. New Business A.
