BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ACTION COMMITTEE MEETING JULY 18TH, 2018 SUMMERVILLE TOWN HALL, TRAINING ROOM 9:00 A.M. Attendees: Members: John Pardee, Sarah Bares, Rick Reiff, Phyllis Thornwaite, John Mott Visitors: Bonnie Miley, Town of Summerville I. Call to Order: John Pardee called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. II. Public Comments: Eric Davis and Pam Zanowski of Dorchester County spoke about the status of the County Parks referendum. A representative from MUSC Injury Prevention attended. III. New Business: The committee discussed a workshop to develop a bicycle/pedestrian infrastructure list. It was agreed to use the 2016 priority list as a basis for development. It was agreed to hold a special BPAC meeting on August 15, 2018 to develop a current sidewalk and crosswalk priority list. The committee also discussed creating a priority list for consideration of the Town’s beautification committee, such as bike racks, sidewalks, etc. The committee discussed the need for street lighting at school bus stops. John P. was going to contact Dorchester District 2 about how to add street lighting. IV. Old Business: The committee discussed upcoming roadway projects in the Town, including the Berlin G. Myers Extension construction to the Sawmill Branch Trail, and the SCDOT Dorchester Road median im- provements, including the new free-flow right-turn lanes and potential conflict with the crosswalks. The committee discussed the E. Richardson Road & S. Magnolia Street thank you letter to the Town. V. Next Meeting: A special workshop meeting will be held on August 15, 2018 to develop a current sidewalk and crosswalk priority list. VI.
