David Price made a motion to approve the minutes as submitted and Rachel Burton provided the second. The motion carried unanimously. At this point in the meeting, Rachel Burton recused herself for 605 S. Magnolia Street and 301 S. Gum Street. Old Business: 605 S. Magnolia Street – Ms. Burton explained that in working on the design the homeowners decided to shorten some of the windows and to change the brick detail around the windows. Windows would have a soldier course on the top and a brick sill below. Left elevation center will have three single windows instead of two double windows. Right side elevation will have five windows instead of six. Rear elevation will have two sets of French doors instead of two sets of French doors and one fixed panel. The brick detail described above will be used on all windows, doors and garage doors. Jeff Bowers made a motion to approve the submitted changes to windows and doors with David Price providing the second. The motion carried unanimously. 301 S. Gum Street – Stephen Mount, homeowner, presented a revised drawing showing an increased pitch for the addition roof. Mr. Mount explained that this was necessary because the previously approved roof was too flat to be guaranteed by the roofer. Mr. Mount explained that this had been accomplished by lowering the ceiling to 9’. After review of the drawings the Board felt this was an improvement. John Kwist made a motion to approve this project as submitted and David Price provided the second. The motion carried unanimously. 603 W. Richardson Avenue – Denise Harrison, homeowner, presented a brick sample to be used in constructing a fence around her property. Ms. Harrison presented photos showing the style of black wrought iron to be used as well as the gas lanterns. The front gate posts will be 10’ tall (32” square) with wrought iron gates and gas lanterns on each front post. Side panels on the front will be open basket weave (photo submitted). The Board questioned the height of the lanterns and Ms. Harrison was not sure. The Board discussed this and felt the lanterns needed to be approximately 24” in height. Additional pillars around the property will be 8’ tall (24” square) with 5’ black wrought iron mounted on a 2’ brick base. Ms. Harrison indicated they were trying to find old wrought iron to use and the Board cautioned them that new powder coated wrought iron would be much easier to maintain. David Price made a motion to approve the presented brick color, design of fence with pierced wall brick design and appropriately sized gas lanterns and fence as presented. Jeff Bowers provided the second and the motion carried unanimously. New Business: N/A There being no further business, John Kwist moved to adjourn the meeting with Jeff Bowers providing the second.
