STAFF REPORT
BAR Meeting
October 2nd, 2018
To: Town of Summerville BAR
From: Meredith Detsch, Planner II
Date: September 25th, 2018
GENERAL INFORMATION
Property Applicant: Rick Martier
Owner: Rick Martier
Requested Action: New portico over front door, metal roof
Existing Zoning: R-1, Single Family Residential
Location: 112 South Walnut Street
TMS# 137-02-13-007
Historic District Ranking– N/A
Existing Land Use: Residential
Background and Analysis: The applicant has applied to install a portico over the front porch.
The applicant has experienced damage to the door from weather and the portico would offer
some additional protection. The sides of the portico are parallel with the roof and the structure
is approximately 1’ 6” above the transom window. The portico is 96” wide and protrudes 40”
out from the structure. The lamps will be moved accordingly. The bottom of the portico will be
3/8” thick plywood and the roof will be a metal roof in the Advantage-Lok II design in the color
Burnished Slate. This project meets all zoning requirements.
