Remington Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94087 CALL TO ORDER Chair Park called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. in the Neighborhood Room. SALUTE TO THE FLAG Chair Park led the salute to the flag. Council Liaison Hendricks (absent) Chair Park took the Consent Calendar out of order. CONSENT CALENDAR 15-0067 Draft Minutes of Arts Commission Meeting on April 15, 2015. Commissioner Lawson moved and Commissioner Kiphuth seconded the motion to approve the minutes of April 15, 2015. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 3 - Chair Park Commissioner Kiphuth Commissioner Lawson No: 0 Absent: 1 - Vice Chair Moshier PRESENTATION 15-0643 Commissioner Recognition Mayor Griffith thanked Shawnte Santos for nearly four years of service on the Arts Commission. He thanked all the Commissioners for their service expressing that Council depends on them for recommendations. PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS None. PUBLIC COMMENTS None. PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS 15-0154 Overview of Arts Programs Community Services Coordinator Kristin Dance provided an overview of the services provided by the Arts Program including the Creative Arts Center, pottery program, visual arts classes, music classes, Theatre, Dance Studio, Art in Private Development and Art in Public Places. She answered Commissioner Lawson's question about whether all the pieces in the public art collection are on display and about the public art at Columbia Neighborhood Center. She answered Chair Parks questions about the Hands on the Arts Festival and Commissioner Kiputh's question about programs hosted off site. Chair Park opened the public hearing. There were no public comments, and she closed the public hearing. 15-0503 Tour of Art at Community Center Ms. Dance provided a tour of art in the Sunnyvale permanent collection on the Community Center Campus. The Commissioners viewed paintings, sculptures, water colors, and tapestries. She answered questions regarding historical photos available from the Historical Society. Chair Park opened the public hearing. There were no public comments, and she closed the public hearing. NON-AGENDA ITEMS & COMMENTS -Commissioner Comments Chair Park thanked Shawnte Santos for attending the meeting and for her service on the Commission. -Staff Comments Ms. Dance announced that art work by Jon Krawczyk will be installed within the next month at 555 Mathilda Ave. / Kilroy Realty Corporation.
