CALL TO ORDER
Chair Park called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. in the Neighborhood Room.

Chair Park led the salute to the flag.

Commissioner Koppel’s absence is excused.

PRESENTATION
15-0412 Overview of Brown Act Requirements
Assistant City Attorney, Melissa Tronquet, provided an overview of the Brown Act.
She answered the Commissioners' questions about whether twitter is a public
space, and what resources are available that provide examples to better
understand the Brown Act. Staff committed to forward to Commissioners the
resources provided by Ms. Tronquet.
16-0133 AIPP and AIPD Project Updates
Community Services Manager, Trenton Hill, provided an update about Art in Private
Development pieces which are pending completion.

1A 16-0079 Approve Draft Minutes of December 16, 2015 Arts
Commission Meeting
Vice Chair Lawson moved, and Commissioner Kiphuth seconded the motion, to
approve the draft minutes of December 16, 2015. The motion carried by the
following vote:
Yes: 3 - Chair Park
Vice Chair Lawson
Commissioner Kiphuth
No: 0
Absent: 1 - Commissioner Koppel
PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS
2 16-0146 Approve Draft 2016 Work Plan
Superintendent of Community Services, Daniel Wax, provided information about
the work plan.
Chair Park opened the public hearing. There were no public comments and she
closed the public hearing.
Vice Chair Lawson moved, and Commissioner Kiphuth seconded the motion, to
approve the master work plan. The motion carried by the following vote:

Absent: 1 - Commissioner Koppel

-Commissioner Comments
Chair Park stated she received articles about Art in Action and Economic Impact
Results via the staff liaison on behalf of Commissioner Koppel. She stated

Commissioner Koppel may request adding it as an agenda item via the Staff
Liaison or the Chair, so it can be discussed at a future meeting.
-Staff Comments
Manager Hill announced the following events:
- Sunnyvale Community Players will present Mulan Jr., February 9-March 6. This is
a youth production.
- Evening of Cultural Arts presented the Dustbowl Revival on February 13, and
presents Patrick Ball on March 12.
- Nathan Truitt has been hired as the new Performing Arts Coordinator.
