CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to Government Code Subdivision 54953(e), the meeting was conducted
telephonically; pursuant to state law, the City Council made the necessary findings
by adopting Resolution No. 1089-21, reaffirmed on May 24, 2022.
Chair Wang called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Approve the Board of Library Trustees Meeting Minutes of May 16, 2022 as
submitted.
PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS
2 22-0615 Recommend Council Accept a California State Library
Stronger Together: Early Learning Grant Funds for a Sunny
Place for Growing Readers Project in the Amount of $88,316
and Approve Budget Modification No. 23 to Appropriate the
Funding
Supervising Librarian, Nan Choi explained details of the California State Library
Stronger Together grant, which included: equal access to educational and
community resources to children and their families, dedicated learning space for
children 0-5 which would include a sensory panel and activity tables, enrichment
and engagement programs for families both onsite and offsite, and take home
storytime kits.
Motion: Vice Chair Isaak moved and Board Member Ma seconded, Recommend
Council Approve Budget Modification No. 23 to Appropriate $88,316 of California
State Library Stronger Together: Early Learning Grant Funds for a Sunny Place for
Growing Readers Project.
Chair Wang opened the public hearing, and there being no public testimony, closed
the public hearing.
The motion carried by the following vote:

Chair Liaison Klein thanked Board Member Boelter, and the entire Board for their
dedication to the community and serving on the Board of Library Trustees.

Chair Wang opened the public hearing, and there being no public testimony, closed
the public hearing.
The Board took no action.

Superintendent Steve Sloan spoke about: Summer Reading Program, public library
