CALL TO ORDER
Chair Wang called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

STUDY SESSION
25-0358 PRESENTATION - Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library
Chaunacey Dunklee, Supervising Librarian, spoke about the Friends of the
Sunnyvale Public Library. Highlights included: the history of the Friends, Friends by
the numbers, and Friends sponsorships.
25-0359 PRESENTATION - Lakewood Branch Library and Learning
Center Update
Garrett Kuramoto, Superintendent of Libraries, spoke about the Lakewood Branch
Library. Highlights included: previous milestones, 2024 milestones, concept design,
floor plan, planned operational features, exterior sculpture locations, interior mural
location, groundbreaking celebration, construction in progress, and
schedule/timeline.

CONSENT CALENDAR
Motion: Board Member Hu moved and Board Member Hod seconded the motion to
approve the Consent Calendar.
The motion carried with the following vote:

STANDING ITEM: CONSIDERATION OF POTENTIAL STUDY ISSUES
NON-AGENDA ITEMS AND COMMENTS
-Board Member Comments
Board members inquired about the Redwood Conference Room cameras and
wondered why the cameras didn't face the presenter at the lectern. The Redwood
Conference Room only has cameras on one side of the room at this moment. More
cameras may be added at a later date.
Board members welcomed new Board Member Liu and encouraged everyone to
attend the library's CERT safety programs.
-Staff Comments
Superintendent of Libraries, Garrett Kuramoto, encouraged everyone to attend
some Silicon Valley Reads programs at the library. Programs such as Into to AI,
Create a Robot, and Build a Robot Hand.

Prior to opening public comment on Oral Communications, the Chair may determine
it would be impractical to include remote public comment for the purpose of
timeliness of the meeting or conducting an orderly meeting.
