John Cordes shared concerns regarding traffic and support for pedestrian and bicycle access. Sue Serrone communicated concerns regarding the loss of retail in the Plan and support for the proposed increases in house. Tap Merrick raised concerns regarding cyber-squatting relating to the upcoming ballot measure and encouraged ethical conduct. Barbara Fukumoto voiced support for electrification. Rose-Marie Twu shared concerns regarding the intersections near Peterson Elementary School and support for a pedestrian bridge over El Camino Real. Kristen Manies communicated support for additional improvements to the intersections near Peterson Elementary School. Mike Serrone announced the Sunnyvale Democratic Club is holding a meeting focusing on Sunnyvale Measure B. Sue Serrone shared details of the upcoming Livable Sunnyvale meeting, including a demonstration of induction cooking and information regarding the transition to electric appliances. Sarah Feldman announced the upcoming Robots on Ice event at the Winter Ice Rink. Public Hearing closed at 7:34 p.m. MOTION: Vice Mayor Melton moved and Councilmember Hendricks seconded the motion to approve Alternative 1: Amend the contract with All City Management Services (ACMS) for crossing guard services increasing the not-to-exceed value by $48,844.80 from $627,520 to $676,364.80 and approve Budget Modification No. 18. Vice Mayor Smith selected to take the seat to the Mayor’s right facing the audience (Seat 5). Councilmember Larsson selected to remain in Seat 3. Councilmember Hendricks selected to remain in Seat 7. Councilmember Melton selected to take Seat 6. Councilmember Goldman selected to remain in Seat 1. Councilmember Fong selected to remain in Seat 2. NON-AGENDA ITEMS & COMMENTS -Council Councilmember Goldman proposed a study issue of increasing flashing button lights at crosswalks. Councilmember Melton supported discussing this topic in more detail prior to co-sponsoring this study issue idea. -City Manager City Manager Kent Steffens announced the Sunnyvale School District Board and Fremont Union High School District Board approved agreements with the City for the development and operation of the Lakewood Branch Library and Learning Center at Lakewood Elementary School. The City Council is scheduled to consider approval of these agreements at its next meeting.
