Richard Mehlinger, on behalf of the Board of Livable Sunnyvale requested that a community land trust be considered to assist with administrating affordable housing. He voiced support for Proposal B. Eileen McLaughlin, Citizens Committee to Complete the Refuge spoke towards the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) insurance standards related to elevated buildings. Kat Wortham shared support for a mixed-use housing development and concerns related to climate change. David Meyer, SV@Home spoke towards affordable housing and the opportunity for this issue to be addressed in the Moffett Park Specific Plan. Leia Mehlman communicated support for a mixed-use residential development and shared concerns with the development’s proximity to the Water Pollution Control Plant. Tara Martin-Milius voiced support for ecology protection along the San Francisco Bay. Kaushik Tota shared support for environmental sustainability along the coastline. Justin Wang spoke towards environmental sustainability, affordable housing and shared his support for Proposal B. Ari Feinsmith communicated support for designated pedestrian and bicycle pathways in the area. Omar Din voiced support for Proposal B and a mixed-use housing development. David Simons shared concerns related to the noise level and installation of palm trees at the location. Kathy Welsh voiced concerns with the number of crows inhabiting the area. Mike Serrone communicated support for adding seating and shade at the location. Leia Mehlman shared support for keeping the labyrinth and for adding shade, a misting system and ground cover at the location. Richard Mehlinger spoke towards parking options in the area and proposed eliminating street parking along Evelyn Avenue adjacent to Plaza del Sol. Tara Martin-Milius voiced support for the project. Michael Johnson, Executive Director, Sunnyvale Downtown Association voiced concerns related to limited power access and lack of restroom facilities. Josh Grossman, Sunnyvale City Council District 2 Candidate voiced concerns with parking shared by future developments and impacts to nearby neighborhoods. Alex Shoor, Executive Director, Catalyze SV shared support for the plan and the staff recommendation. Richard Mehlinger communicated support for a citywide shuttle program and the staff recommendation. Alysa Cisneros, Sunnyvale City Council District 2 Candidate spoke towards public transportation accessibility near developments. Steve Caroompas shared support for the plan, a citywide shuttle program and proposed removing street parking on Murphy Avenue. Michael Johnson, Executive Director, Sunnyvale Downtown Association shared concerns with paid parking and removing parking spaces. Leia Mehlman voiced support for increased “parking” signage along with bicycle and pedestrian pathways in the area.
