CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to Government Code Subdivision 54953(e), the meeting was conducted
telephonically; pursuant to state law, the City Council made the necessary findings
by adopting Resolution No. 1089-21, reaffirmed on January 25, 2022.
Mayor Klein called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. via teleconference.

Council took a recess at 7:54 p.m. to allow the City Clerk to review initial
Councilmember ranking and counting first-choice votes. Council reconvened at 8:02
p.m. with all Councilmembers present via teleconference.
Mr. Carnahan announced Candidates James Griffith and Anthony Spitaleri tied with
three first-choice votes each. No candidate was appointed.
Mr. Carnahan conducted a second round of random rank choice roll call votes,
tallied the votes and reported the results as follows:

first-choice rank votes was appointed to the At Large City Council Seat No. 3 to
serve a term ending January 3, 2023.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Klein adjourned the meeting at 9:36 p.m.

Recommendation: Staff makes no recommendation. This report is developed to
allow Council to make an appointment to fill the vacancy in the
At-Large Council Seat No. 3 or direct staff to schedule a
special council meeting to call for a special election.
