Daniel Karpelevitch, Sunnyvale Safe Streets, provided a presentation in support of Hollenbeck Avenue bicycle lanes. Sharlene Liu continued the presentation. Pedro Valencia Landa shared their concerns with the recent Supreme Court ruling that lifted restrictions on Los Angeles immigration enforcement and advocated for City Council to take actions to support the immigrant community. Steve Scandalis spoke to their traffic safety concerns regarding the use of electronic bicycles (e-bikes). Alice communicated their concerns with sales tax Measure A. Cindy discussed their concerns with sales tax Measure A and Medi-Cal enrollment numbers. Brian advocated for exploring revenue sources apart from a sales tax measure. Jonathan Blum spoke in support of addressing the budget shortfalls at Santa Clara Valley Healthcare. Mollie Naber, Director of Housing Development, MidPen Housing; Nevada Merriman, Vice President of Policy and Advocacy, MidPen Housing; and Jennifer City of Sunnyvale Page 7 City Council Meeting Minutes September 9, 2025 Lu, Senior Project Manager, MidPen Housing, responded to Council Member questions. Public Comment opened at 10:25 p.m. Stacie Allen shared their support for the affordable housing project. Mohammad Roo voiced concerns with the amount of parking planned in the project and the impact on neighbors. Tim Cheng communicated concerns with the density of the planned project and potential impacts on neighborhood parking and trash on the street. Uday shared a presentation with concerns about the density of the proposed project. Siva continued the presentation. Steve C. shared a presentation outlining how the density of the project does not align with the Downtown Specific Plan. Yuriana Valencia spoke in support for the affordable housing project. Johnny Valencia voiced their support for the project and providing housing in Sunnyvale. Yency Guio communicated their support for the affordable housing project. Sebastian shared their support for the affordable housing project. Julian Medina expressed their support for the affordable housing project. Miranda Guio shared support for the proposed project, in particular for providing affordable housing for children. Claudia Camacho spoke in support for the affordable housing project. Juan Alvarez voiced their support for the affordable housing project. Liz shared concerns with existing limited parking in the neighborhood and the impact this project would have on parking in the neighborhood. Judi Richards voiced their concerns with the density of the project and limited parking provided for each unit. Manuel Salazar, SV@Home, communicated support for the proposed project and housing near jobs and transportation. Daniel Karpelevitch voiced their support for the project and with the amount of parking planned for the project. Arthi shared concerns with the addition of this proposed project, along with the impacts of existing projects in the neighborhood. Denica voiced their concerns with the project, including the limited amount of parking proposed. Agnes Veith shared details of recent rent increases in Sunnyvale and support for continuing to approve housing in Sunnyvale.
