Olive Ave., Sunnyvale, CA 94086 CALL TO ORDER Chair Dietrich called the meeting to order. SALUTE TO THE FLAG Chair Dietrich led the salute to the flag. ROLL CALL Present: 6 - Chair Hannalore Dietrich Vice Chair Dawn Hopkins Commissioner Melanie Holthaus Commissioner Dixie Larsen Commissioner Mike Michitaka Commissioner Kenneth Valenzuela Absent: 1 - Commissioner Dale Mouritsen PRESENTATION 1. 18-0222 California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Training Senior Assistant City Attorney Rebecca Moon provided an introduction and training of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as it pertains to historic resources. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS None. CONSENT CALENDAR 2. 18-0179 Approve the Draft Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes of February 7, 2018 Vice Chair Hopkins and Comm. STANDING ITEM: CONSIDERATION OF POTENTIAL STUDY ISSUES None. NON-AGENDA ITEMS & COMMENTS -Commissioner Comments None. INFORMATION ONLY REPORTS/ITEMS 18-0178 Report on 2018 City Council Study Issues Workshop Senior Planner Noren Caliva-Lepe summarized the rankings of the Study Issues proposed by the Commission, noting that the Heritage Resources Inventory list was ranked 2nd and the Murphy Avenue Design Guidelines ranked 5th. She summarized that all of the Commission’s Study Issues were ranked and not deferred; although City staff will still need to determine if staff time and budget will allow the studies to be completed. Vice Chair Hopkins discussed the study issue process in determining staff workload and financing of the study issues and asked staff about applying for grants and other outside resources.
