City of Sunnyvale Meeting Minutes Heritage Preservation Commission Wednesday, December 7, 2022 7:00 PM Teleconference Meeting: City Web Stream Regular Meeting - 7 PM Special Teleconference Notice Public Participation Accessibility/Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Notice CALL TO ORDER Chair Sharma called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM. SALUTE TO THE FLAG NA ROLL CALL Present: 6 - Chair Pamela Sharma Vice Chair Sarosh Patel Commissioner Jenny Bratton Commissioner Steve Caroompas Commissioner Dawn Hopkins Rutawari Sharma PRESENTATION None ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Sue Ellen Johnson, member of the public, volunteer at the Sunnyvale Historical Society, spoke regarding her interest in design and architectural history. She noted her interest in joining the Commission. Mayor Klein responded with information on joining City boards and commissions and to contact the City Clerk for additional information. City of Sunnyvale Page 1 Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes December 7, 2022 CONSENT CALENDAR 1.A 22-1117 Approve the Draft Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes of August 3, 2022 MOTION: Commissioner Hopkins moved and Vice Chair Patel seconded the motion to approve the Draft Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes of August 3, 2022, as submitted. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4 - Chair Sharma Vice Chair Patel Commissioner Caroompas Commissioner Hopkins No: 0 Abstain: 2 - Commissioner Bratton Sharma PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS 2. 22-1115 Approve the Draft Heritage Preservation Commission 2023 Master Work Plan MOTION: Commissioner Hopkins moved and Commissioner Bratton seconded the motion to approve the Draft Heritage Preservation Commission 2023 Master Work Plan. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 6 - Chair Sharma Vice Chair Patel Commissioner Bratton Commissioner Caroompas Commissioner Hopkins Sharma No: 0 3. 22-1116 Annual Review of Code of Ethics and Conduct for Elected and Appointed Officials MOTION: Commissioner Bratton moved and Vice Chair Patel seconded the motion to approve the Annual Review of Code of Ethics and Conduct for Elected and City of Sunnyvale Page 2 Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes December 7, 2022 Appointed Officials. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 6 - Chair Sharma Vice Chair Patel Commissioner Bratton Commissioner Caroompas Commissioner Hopkins Sharma No: 0 STANDING ITEM: CONSIDERATION OF POTENTIAL STUDY ISSUES None NON-AGENDA ITEMS & COMMENTS -Commissioner Comments Mayor Klein noted that this will be his last meeting as the Councilmember Liaison for the Heritage Preservation Commission, and a new liaison will be appointed in January. He also noted his interest in historic preservation. Chair Sharma and commissioners thanked Mayor Klein. Commissioner Caroompas asked when in person meetings will start and Principal Planner George Schroeder noted that there is not a confirmed date but may start in spring 2023. Mayor Klein noted that the new City Hall building is scheduled to open in early spring 2023. INFORMATION ONLY REPORTS/ITEMS Mr. Schroeder thanked Mayor Klein for his time as a Councilmember Liaison and welcomed newly appointed Commissioner Rutawari Sharma.
