ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Sue Ellen Johnson, member of the public, volunteer at the Sunnyvale Historical
Society, spoke regarding her interest in design and architectural history. She noted
her interest in joining the Commission.
Mayor Klein responded with information on joining City boards and commissions
and to contact the City Clerk for additional information.

MOTION: Commissioner Hopkins moved and Vice Chair Patel seconded the motion
to approve the Draft Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes of August
3, 2022, as submitted.

Plan.

-Commissioner Comments
Mayor Klein noted that this will be his last meeting as the Councilmember Liaison for
the Heritage Preservation Commission, and a new liaison will be appointed in
January. He also noted his interest in historic preservation.
Chair Sharma and commissioners thanked Mayor Klein.
Commissioner Caroompas asked when in person meetings will start and Principal
Planner George Schroeder noted that there is not a confirmed date but may start in
spring 2023.
Mayor Klein noted that the new City Hall building is scheduled to open in early
spring 2023.
INFORMATION ONLY REPORTS/ITEMS
Mr. Schroeder thanked Mayor Klein for his time as a Councilmember Liaison and
welcomed newly appointed Commissioner Rutawari Sharma.

(Open Meeting Law) does not allow the Heritage Preservation Commission to take
action on an item not listed on the agenda. If you wish to address the Heritage
Preservation Commission, please refer to the notice at the beginning of this
agenda. Individuals are limited to one appearance during this section.
