Jim Stark followed up on the public inquiry asked during Oral Communications
regarding the use of gas leaf blowers. He noted that the City has explored new
technology to replace gas-powered leaf blowers. Currently, electric leaf blowers are
$1,000 more expensive per unit and do not have the required power to replace
gas-powered yet. The City will continue to research and recently purchased quieter
gas-powered leaf blowers to lessen the noise.
Damon Sparacino followed up on the public inquiry asked during Oral
Communications regarding creating additional pickle ball courts. He noted that
currently the City has a Expanded Sports study issue that was ranked last year.
Although it was not funded, it will have the opportunity to be ranked again this year.
He added, there are four pickle ball courts at Las Palmas, and once summer camp
programming is over, the Indoor Sports Center will host pickle ball scrimmages in
late August or early September.
